Portico di Romagna: where artists are at home

All the artistic creations, whether they are paintings or sculptures or anything you can think about, have a birth process that every artist decides on his own. As a matter of fact, living in a quiet and inspiring place such as an ancient Italian medieval borough, is a very good starting point.

Portico in Arte

Since 2013, Portico has opened its doors to a very special project called Portico in Arte, an event where artists from all over the world can stay, realize their works of art and expose them in the lovely and suggestive corners of the borough.

The first edition in 2013 brought to the village some young artists that exposed their works all over the world and create special creations to be given to Portico at the end of the event. Their staying in the center town, in the building of the Italian language school Olmo, was once again, a way to mix in a natural way, people coming from foreign countries and locals, giving to their inspiration a new rush.

The artistic community that was created still collaborate and still has deep connections with Portico di Romagna, where, since then, artists are really very welcome to stay, create and work together with the ones that are already there (see our post on Le botteghine) .

Art into the wild

Last year the project had its second edition with a new leading theme: Art into the wild. The goal was to achieve a symbiosis between art and environment, through the inclusion of works inside of the uncontaminated natural environment where the small village of Portico di Romagna lies.
These are some of the works that were created and are still exposed in the borough.
